We are here to help you heal, grow, and thrive.

About us.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) defines mental illness as a condition that significantly affects a person’s thinking, feeling, mood, or behavior—often disrupting their daily life and functioning. These conditions can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or race. Common examples include anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders. In the United States alone, millions of people experience mental health challenges, yet only about half seek the treatment they need. Recognizing the urgent need for accessible, compassionate care, Dr. Mariam Rothfritz was inspired to open her own practice dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey to mental wellness.

Driven by a deep passion for helping those struggling with complex mental health issues, Dr. Rothfritz earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Long Island University. She began her career treating patients individually but soon realized she wanted to create something bigger—a space where a team of dedicated professionals could come together to offer high-quality, personalized care. In 2017, she launched Mariam Rothfritz, Ph.D. and Associates, a group private practice grounded in empathy, collaboration, and clinical excellence.

From the outset, the practice experienced steady growth, becoming a trusted name in the community. Today, it is home to a diverse team of experienced clinicians, many of whom specialize in treating specific populations and conditions. While the majority of the team is female, Dr. Rothfritz has intentionally built a staff that reflects diversity in gender, age, cultural background, and therapeutic approach—ensuring that every client feels comfortable and represented.

The practice offers services for individuals ages four and up and operates seven days a week to accommodate busy schedules. To make mental health care more accessible, the practice is in-network with most major insurance providers. Dr. Rothfritz also invests in her team’s continued professional development, covering the cost of ongoing education and training to ensure that her clinicians remain current with the latest therapeutic methodologies.

What began as a one-woman endeavor has grown into a thriving mental health practice rooted in integrity, inclusivity, and excellence. Dr. Rothfritz’s vision and relentless dedication have earned the practice a stellar reputation—most recently being featured in Top Doc, a significant milestone in its journey. With her eyes on the future, Dr. Rothfritz looks forward to continued growth and expanding her mission of delivering exceptional mental health care to all who need it.

My team specializes in anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief counseling, and trauma. Because there is no one specific way that works for everyone, the therapeutic approach at my practice is dynamic. We provide traditional talk therapy, art therapy as well as play therapy. I have staffed my practice with clinicians who can work with children as young as four years old, teens, and adults.

  • Hello, I’m Dr. Mariam Rothfritz, a clinical psychologist and the founder of our group practice in Clifton, New Jersey. I’ve been in this field since earning my doctorate from Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus in 2009—and from the very start, I knew this work was my calling. Early in my training, I passed the Clinical Qualifying Exam with distinction, which really affirmed my passion for helping others through meaningful, evidence-based care.
In 2017, I opened this practice with one goal in mind: to make quality mental health support more accessible and more personal. Since then, I’ve been lucky to build a team of skilled and compassionate therapists who bring a range of approaches and specialties to meet people where they are.
I work with individuals of all ages—from young kids to adults—and I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship challenges. We offer a variety of therapy styles, including talk therapy, play therapy, and art therapy, so that each person can find what works best for them.
Life gets busy—we get it. That’s why we offer appointments seven days a week, making it easier to fit therapy into your schedule. Whether you're struggling with something specific or just feeling stuck, we're here to support you in a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space.
At the core of everything I do is a strong belief in the resilience of people. Healing takes time, and every journey looks different—but with the right support, real change is possible. It’s a privilege to walk alongside people as they grow, heal, and find their way forward.

  • Daria Filipovic, LCSW.

You may or may not be fully aware for the reason for your search for a therapist today, but it is a start. Whether you are overwhelmed with emotions, anxiety, change or adjusting to something new, therapy can be beneficial. I want you to be comfortable in session, learn, improve and be yourself. My approach to therapy is that our work will add and/or improve your skill sets and be used long after therapy. I use a CBT approach. I tend to be direct and to the point. My approach is directive and interactive. I will not just stare at you and make you feel uncomfortable, but rather, provide a space where your thoughts, feelings, and ideas can be formed and expressed through meaningful and supportive dialogue.

  • Hello! I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Rutgers University after completing my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Montclair State University.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and adults in individual therapy settings. During these sessions, my clients and I worked together to achieve their goals related to managing depression, anxiety, self-esteem, mood disorders, and more.

I truly believe that therapy can be a powerful stepping stone toward overcoming life’s challenges and breaking unwanted cycles. In my work with clients, I prioritize creating a space where they feel confident and comfortable. Within a non-judgmental and empathetic environment, we can determine the best approach to meet each individual’s needs—whether that involves cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices, or other evidence-based techniques.
I look forward to supporting you during this personal stage of growth!

  • Are you suffering with the "what's next?" situations that life throws our way? It's alright to admit that you could use some help navigating maturity, exploring your identity in your adolescence, dealing with an existential identity crisis into your 20's and 30's or battling love and weariness with a new infant, it's okay to admit that you may need some support.

Maybe all you need is a safe place to vent about life, or perhaps some practical tools that can help you manage stress, like learning new coping skills or making difficult decisions. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness practices in my sessions. You are capable of living the life you desire; sometimes we simply need a little encouragement in order to achieve our full potential in life. I like to use humor in my sessions because therapy can be such a vulnerable experience. My goal is to make it as comfortable and lighthearted as possible!

Although I have my own style, I strive to be as flexible as possible to accommodate your learning preferences. Your journey is unique, and I’m here to support you in navigating life to the best of my ability. Let’s face life’s biggest challenges together.

  • I always knew that I wanted to help people in my career and was drawn to social work for its unique perspectives on social justice and mental health. I earned my undergraduate degree in Social Work at Baylor University in Waco, Texas and worked in an outpatient adolescent mental health facility after graduation. When I decided to pursue my master’s degree, I moved to New Jersey to attend Rutgers University for my MSW. During my graduate education, I worked as a therapist in the Paterson School District and collaborated with psychiatrists, pediatricians, and school staff as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest possible level of care for my clients. This experience taught me invaluable lessons in compassion, empathy, and patience that shaped me into the practitioner I am today.

I use a variety of different techniques in my practice, including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and play therapy. I incorporate mindfulness and elements of relaxation training with all of my clients in an effort to emphasize the mind-body connection. A vital element of my practice is cultivating a positive therapeutic relationship with my clients in order to ensure that they feel seen, heard, and understood. This relationship is the basis for helping clients create meaningful change in their lives.

  • I graduated from NYU in 2019 and have since been practicing as a social worker, LCSW, in various different clinical fields. This has given me a broad range of experience and skills that I utilize in providing therapy to my clients. I largely utilize integrative therapy in my work with clients, as I feel a single approach to therapy does not always deliver the best benefit to the client. I view each client as unique in their needs and desired goals in therapy. I do, however, tend to draw from approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy in my work with clients.

  • Hello, my name is Gary Drake, LCSW. I have been practicing since 1975 and actively treat a wide range of life stressors and circumstantial challenges. My agenda, my focus, and my purpose is you. I’m deeply grateful to my clients as they progress, overcome obstacles, and ultimately make things significantly better.

Thank you, and I appreciate your interest.
